Head coach of Bex Milnes Coaching

My coaching philosophy

Every athlete has different strengths, challenges, goals and life commitments.

Rather than applying the same approach to everyone, I believe coaching should evolve around the individual. That means taking time to understand your training history, your physiology, your lifestyle and the way you respond to different training loads before making decisions.

For me, successful coaching isn't just about helping athletes perform well on race day. It's about creating sustainable progress, building confidence in the process, and helping athletes enjoy the journey along the way.

My journey

I've spent over fifteen years working in endurance sport across grassroots participation, age-group competition and high-performance environments.

During that time I've coached athletes to Paralympic, Commonwealth, Ironman and 70.3 success—but the biggest lesson I've learned isn't about elite performance.

It's that every athlete responds differently.

Whether I'm working with a professional athlete or someone preparing for their first endurance event, the coaching process starts in exactly the same place: understanding the individual.
